Reflection 3.2 I am finding wiki a lot harder to use than blogger however am slowly learning the ropes. As this is my second blogging tool I have found that wiki can be used in a more multi-use way where pages can be uploaded and built upon through multiple members. Wiki is an excellent website speaking in terms of student collaborating on their work, for example after starting the wiki their is a selection box where you can state whether you are associated with a school and then link your wikispace with that school. Wikis can be a useful tool in the teaching world as it is an online space that can bring teachers and students together on the same space.  Wikispace:  http://taylorb48.wikispaces.com In regards to my pedagogy using wiki could be a great space to discuss, compare and share students knowledge, thoughts, opinions and studies where others can draw information and help others with their work. Not only that but it can be accessed by the whole class and so me ...

Reflection 3.1  Embedded task one... where to begin! I have immersed myself in what I am reading and have been watching video content which has been helping me to understand all the content. I have had time to thinking about my own pedagogy and how technology will play a big part of my teaching style. Thinking back to  Week 1 (the nature of your learners) and Week 2 (the nature of pedagogy) Gen Z are learners who use social media as a research tool and can use technology to multi-task, communicate with speed and are co-creators so trying to fit their needs, the Australian curriculum and a balanced classroom is one that I as a teacher need to satisfy with my pedagogy.  I believe that Blogger being used in my classes to gives students an opportunity to work both individually and collaboratively and use the tools on Blogger to really personalise it and give students the freedom to express themselves in a creative way. Legal studies students can use blogger to link and...

Embedded Task One

Embedded Task One So far I have found Blogger to be somewhat easy to navigate, and found myself enjoying writing, editing and using the program to convey what I want to say through visuals and video. Blogger is a blogging program that allows you to customize a space where you can write blogs and edit the way you want. Through exploring this program I stumbled into the settings where I found personal information, privacy settings, location, profile photo/audio and general stuff like about me information. Privacy is super important as you don’t want someone getting your hands on private information and so I found that Blogger gives you the option to show my profile which I kept on so other colleagues could view, read and comment on my reflections and turned off email address and used a stage name for security reasons. The blog author is set to one that is the admin, so only I can post blogs; however there is a setting to set up a third-party option to share your blog and get o...

Reflection 2.2 Blooms taxonomy is focused on 'high order thinking' which promotes analysing and evaluating and really getting them to engulf themselves in knowledge and understanding rather than just embedding facts into their brains. (Collins, 2014) The six sections of Blooms Taxonomy are seen below but each is important in students learning. Blooms taxonomy and the SAMR model correlate through higher order thinking and technological thinking at a advanced level.  Take modification as an example, in the picture below it is labelled as a caramel macchiato, through significant redesign this has modified from a plain cup of coffee to an advanced coffee. How did one reach the end result of a caramel macchiato? Starting with a plain cup of coffee thought begins, discussions could be made and ideas thrown around for new flavours (Comprehension) next using designing and experimenting to examine taste (Application) then testing on others, a more macro le...

Reflection 2.1

Reflection 2.1 This table will become critical in the second phase of this unit, leading to Assessment Task 2.  Will be  updated in upcoming weeks.  Strategy Focus questions When have I experienced this in the past? How have I used this strategy as a teacher? Deep knowledge and higher order thinking Are higher-order thinking and critical analysis occurring? University  Does the lesson sequence cover operational fields in any depth, detail or level of specificity? Do the work and response of the students provide evidence of depth of understanding of concepts or ideas? Collaborative and social learning Does classroom talk break out of the initiation/response/evaluation pattern and lead to sustained dialogue between students, and between teachers and students? Knowledge as complex and linked to interests and experience Are students critiquing and second-guessing texts, ideas and knowledge? Does the lesson sequence range across diverse ...
